“Writing in the Dark is such a value. You’re basically giving people an MFA in creative writing for practically nothing.” ~Sarah Fay, Writers at Work
Thank you, Writers in the Dark.
Tonight is the last session of live candlelight yoga nidra during our Visceral Self embodied writing intensive.
You do NOT need to be have written during this intensive to join us—you only need to be a founding member, and you can upgrade here if needed.
Please join us for this special experience if you can. At Writing in the Dark, we know that a writing practice starts with attention paid to far more than the words. We must first attend to the world—and the way our bodies exist within it. That’s what makes writing, and Writing in the Dark, so much more than writing.
So join us tonight at 8 Central for a live yoga nidra meditation on Zoom. Here’s some feedback on our meditations so far:
That body scan was electric! Oh my goodness—"Fetal position, like a newborn baby, a seed, a beginning." Thank you, Billie. I felt something tingling in the writing process after.
I just want to say a huge THANK YOU for this exercise and body scan meditation.
Thank you Billie. Felt like coming home to a place I've been before and forgot all about. Another time and place. It's good to be back home again.
I did Billie’s body scan. Oh my gosh. It was incredible. I had a visceral image pop out of my right shoulder of our golden retriever Clementine pulling free and bounding forward, first out of me, then toward me. It was magical. I do not know in words what it means, but my body knows.
I did Billie's meditation after reading today's essay/prompt and as it was winding down, got a strong sense of gratitude for you, Billie, and how your voice sounds like your mother's. How I imagine Jeannine's sounded when you were younger. What a cool thing that was to experience.❤️ What a cool place you've both created here.❤️
That was incredible! Thanks Billie, Jeannine and Writers in the Dark! The peace and love were palpable over the zooms.
I have been so looking forward to this since I first heard about it some weeks ago. It will be my first Yoga Nidra experience, and I’m quite sure it won’t be my last. Thank you!
