I am sorry to be sending this week’s edition of Lit Salon at almost midnight instead of a more reasonable hour. Today, our foster grandson had surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids. And that procedure was, of course, long planned. What wasn’t planned was how on Saturday, he spiked a fever of 104, and how yesterday, he came down with a truly tormenting case of hand-mouth-foot that kept him up all night in abject misery (it is so hard to be two years old and relentlessly itchy!). Fortunately, it was safe to proceed with the surgery this morning despite the hellish rash and lingering low-grade fever. He is recovering like a superstar now and should be discharged in the morning. But it’s been a rough few days, to say the least. Thank you for your patience!
