đ§”Thursday Thread | Whatâs ONE thing you could do (or stop doing) to make writing so much easier?
Hi, Writers!
I loved our last two threads on What Makes You Feel Like a Writer and Sharing Happiness. These lively conversations for paid subscribers are đ„ and and itâs inspiring me in totally unexpected and lasting ways. Thank you!
Todayâs thread is my own spin on the famous âOne Thingâ question from business guru Gary Keller, who asked it this way: ââWhatâs the ONE Thing I can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?â
Since sustaining a creative practice takes effort, Iâm always trying to look past what I know, and to learn from other disciplines (including business, sports, and other far-flung realms I know nothing about) for ideas on how to make my creative writing life easier and better. So I would recast Kellerâs famous question as follows:
Whatâs ONE thing you could (or stop doing) to make writing so much easier?
Since I work full time and have a big family, my biggest obstacle is always time. So my ONE thing would be to consistently get up one hour earlier than I normally do. Iâmn trying that now, and this pic is the sun rising on Wednesday morning over Indian Pass. However, my past efforts have always been short lived. So, if anyone has suggestions on successfully becoming an early (or earlier) riser, please share! I could really use those 5 to 7 extra hours a week for my creative work.
What about you? Whatâs your one thing?
