It has been one heck of a day.

I am—we are—neck deep in prep for Writing in the Dark | The CAMP next week, which feels … well, I think the best word for it is epic.

We have about 40 writers from all over gathering with us to write in community at Camp Wandawega in the middle of Wisconsin.

One writer is nestling the CAMP experience into a 10-week RV trip from New Mexico then across the Midwest, up to Toronto and the Great Lakes, and back again. Another is flying over from England. Others are flying and driving from California, Florida, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, and, gosh, a whole bunch of states in between that I can’t recall because I’m so bad at geography. Remember, I only attended high school through ninth grade before everything fell apart, and I’ve never really caught all the way up on some core subjects I missed.

The point is, we have this vibrant and diverse group of writers coming from all over to quite literally write in…
