This is a beautiful piece of writing. I really enjoyed reading it. I’ve never heard of Estero island in Florida. It’s part of the barrier island chain that protect parts of Florida from severe waves. I read that trees and shrubs grow up from brackish waters and these trees actually remove the salt by some special process.
What a wonderful place and a safe place for all of these birds how precious is that? Wow if only we could protect our children like that. I looked it up. It’s 20 mi.² With approximately 4000 residence per seven districts. The island is between Naples and Fort Myers.
