So, What’s a Group Write-In?

It’s simple. We meet in the Zoom room and write together for an hour.

Why Not Just Write Alone, Though?

Because there’s more magic in the collective.

Things to know:

• We’ll open with a poem/excerpt (I’ll read one out loud) to set a mood

• A dedicated post will be linked in the chat—like this one from our last Write-In—so you can introduce yourself in the comments and circle back later to share work, because it won’t disappear like the Zoom chat

• I’ll offer a simple writing exercise for those who want one

• Writer are welcome to work on their own projects or free write—whatever works

• Everyone will be muted

• Cameras on or off, your choice

• Write, write, write

• Zoom will close at 9:30 AM (course you can log off sooner if you need to)

• Starting at 9:20 participants will be invited to share a snippet of something that sparked from the writing session in the comments on a dedicated post linked in the Zoom chat (again, like this one from our last Write-In). It can feel great to share what we accomplished, including a sentence or two from the work (totally optional, but it’s fun for some of us to celebrate any small gain for our effort!)
