I'm on a cruise ship with my mother right now (let's be kind and call it a mixed bag). I will be with you in spirit, envious of the charged but comforting milieu.

May inspiration approach your stillnesses like a gentle animal coaxed in from the cold!

Wow! Really enjoyed the Write-In! Could feel the energy. Here's my contribution, unedited and raw as it is:

It is the responsibility of the writer to tell the truth, no matter how painful the truth may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to be kind, no matter how unkind the world may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to be curious, no matter how frightening that may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to master the craft, no matter how arduous that may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to speak with clarity, no matter how difficult that may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to love the reader, no matter how unlovable they may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to reveal the past, no matter how unpleasant that may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to illuminate the future, no matter how unclear the path may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to provide hope, no matter how hopeless things may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to be brave, no matter how dangerous that may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to reveal joy, no matter how joyless the world may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to give thanks, no matter how thankless this task may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to provide balm to wounds, no matter how deep those wounds may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to hold a mirror up to the reader, no matter how harsh the reflection my be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to call "Bullshit!" no matter how risky that may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to listen, no matter how cruel the message may be.

It is the responsibility of the writer to improve the Universe a bit, no matter how absurd this task may be.
